UK company Sea Chips to create vegan fish jerky

UK-based company Sea Chips recently announced that it is working on creating the world’s first vegan fish jerky. Currently the company uses salmon skins that are typically discarded to make its crisps. Founder of Sea Chips, Daniel Pawson and his business partner Dominic Smith hope to launch the product in late 2019.

The company is also planning on shipping its products in biodegradable packaging in order to be more sustainable. In a recent interview, Pawson said: “We are running our own tests to make sure it has the correct shelf life and will work with our packaging machinery [once the tests are completed].”
